One in a series of three simple bilingual leaflets that were designed to educate people about the 1976 Montréal Olympics, providing context, background and justification for the Games themselves, as well as useful information on timings for the various sports.
This 24 page fold out pamphlet is the yellow edition (the others were blue and red). It provides information on the 27 competition sites across Montréal, Quebec City, Kingston, Ottawa, Toronto, Sherbrooke, Bromont, Joliette and L’Acadie for the 21 sports of the games. Each entry provides an image of the site, where they are located, approximately how far they are from each other, the number of spectators each holds and the sports connected with the site.
The “talking heads” on the cover reinforce the desire of the piece to avoid misunderstandings when in conversation. These were produced on lightweight paper in large quantities to enable widespread mass distribution at low cost. One face in French (Je sais…) and the other in English (I know…).
