This progressive identity for the University Of Alberta was designed by celebrated design professor Walter Jungkind. The use of simple reductionist geometric forms in each of the initials created a striking logo that really stood out in a sea of formal institutional branding. The shield-like U in particular provided a strong link to the University crest, while stripping away all the stuffy connotations that accompany such traditional elements.
