Ernst Roch is credited as the author on the cover of this piece, which was commissioned by the New York MoMA and based on a paper folding system that a father created for his son in the early 19th Century. The original set consisted of cavalrymen and horses, and photographs of the last few surviving examples were used as the basis for this new set. The set consists of 36 pre-scored sheets of coloured and printed patterned paper together with a 12-page booklet containing instructions for folding and finishing all the animals. “A highly entertaining and educational device to develop manual skills and to stimulate the imagination.”
