A catalogue for an exhibition held at the Sir George Williams Art Galleries (part of Concordia University) in Montréal, showcasing six artists: Luc Béland, Pierra Blanchette, Bernard Gamoy, Jocelyn Jean, Michael Jolliffe, Landon Makenzie, Daniel Oxley, Leopold Plotek, Louise Robert. The show was neither a summing up of the past nor a barometer for the future but rather a consideration of Montréal painting at that time.
Design of the publication was by designer Austin Metze who interestingly was not based in Montréal, but an hour south in Ormstown, Québec. The front cover is the only area where colour has been implemented, with five Pantone® colours being used (the back cover is blank and the text section is in black ink only), producing a result which is both intriguing and distinctive. Standard and condensed weights of Helvetica are used throughout for the typographic layouts.
