There were over a 1000 printed pieces created by the ‘printed matter’ design team of the 1976 Summer Olympic Games in Montréal. The team consisted of Pierre-Yves Pelletier (art director) and Raymond Bellemare, Yvon Laroche, Andre Rivard, Jean Morin (designers).
This booklet, released 14 months ahead of the games, provided reference to all of the planned events along with the corresponding tiered ticketing price options. It is organized in sequence of the performances of the individual sporting events along with the opening and closing ceremonies at either end.
The cover design uses four of the official games’ colours (blue, yellow, orange, red) applied to a ‘tabbed’ graphic layout, spanning the front and the back covers. This approach produced a clever reference to the ‘organizational’ aspect of the information found within the booklet, but also of the ‘seating’ and ‘spectators’ at the impending event.
