A scientific study of Chalara (a type of fungus most commonly associated with tree dieback) and other related fungi, created at the University of Waterloo.
The bold black and red cover was designed by George W. Roth, Design Supervisor for the University’s Graphic Services department. The illustration on the cover is cropped from a stylised graphic representation of the cell structures in two common fungi of the genus, Chalaropsis and Thielaviopsis. To add impact and intrigue, the illustration is angled and the accompanying titles are aligned to it.
