A suite of three tall posters promoting a series of liberal arts lectures held at The University of Waterloo, sponsored by the Faculty of Arts and arranged by the Department of English. Lecture 1 featured Canadian poet and critic, Eli Mandel, Lecture 2 featured Canadian writer and professor of English (McGill University) Hugh MacLennan, and Lecture 3 featured Hungarian-born British producer and critic Dr Martin Esslin.
The posters were all designed and printed within the university by Graphic Services — the format selected to work economically with the fuller sheet size, as well as attempting to create some impact when displayed in the busy notice board environment on campus. The design is purely typographic, using Helvetica for the main information and Futura light for the titles which run horizontally up the right hand side. Each poster is limited to 2 colours, which maintains economy, but also so they are distinct from each other within the lecture series. These were printed in very small numbers, possibly only 25 of each. It is likely these may be only ones now in existence.
