Habitat was published bi-monthly by the Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation. It was worked on extensively by Fritz in particular during the early days of his time in Montréal. Interestingly, the publication is not bilingual, but instead assumes that its readers are, with articles published in either French or English.

No separate design credit is offered for the illustrations, and the cover design is adapted from illustrations that seemingly were commissioned to support the various articles. It shares some aesthetic similarities with G+A’s identity for Claude Neon Limited, including the compositional grid idea, colour combination and use of strong diagonals in its construction.
