A book comprised of documents, revealing a rich diversity of educational traditions through the history of Canadian education. Written from the vantage point of the educators and administrators (teachers and board) over that of the politicians (provincial and federal), this book emphasizes the similarities in the origins, structures and aims of the ten provincial systems at every level from elementary school to university.

The primary composition on the cover takes a grid of 16 squares, each treated with a red 3D extrusion, to form cubes, and arranged in opposing rows. The face of each cube is inset with a single black and white image of a child bearing headphones. One assumes this image symbolic of the modern learning environment of the time. The interacting negative spaces between each row, creating small orange arrows, is a particularly nice touch which further reinforces the interplay between the elements of both dimensions. Typesetting throughout is in Univers.
