This box set of 12 volumes is designed around a simple reference system, with the slipcase functioning as a guide to the contents, and each volume continuing the system on its cover and spine. The overall set is billed as a ‘basic manual for trainers’ , and this strictly utilitarian feel is expressed through the overall design.

Harder also created a logo for the set that appears on the case and represents the objective of the training system. The rhomb on the left symbolizes training; that on the right symbolizes service delivery. The maple leaf represents the combined efforts of the provincial, territorial, and federal governments to bring training and service delivery into sharper focus.
