A telephone directory produced for employees of the Canadian National Railway, covering the Great Lakes Region (from Hamilton across Toronto to Oshawa, Windsor, through the entire Niagara peninsula and up as far as Kitchener, and North of Barrie up to Sudbury and North Bay). The booklet outlines how to make calls of varying types, as well as key contacts for specific persons or roles within the organization (across this region).
The cover of this booklet is printed in purple ink only (the inner in black ink only), and depicts a large graphic telephone dial in the lower two thirds of the page. The title is set in Helvetica and the CN logo (designed by Allan R. Fleming in 1959) sits aligned on the right hand side. It is unknown if the purple cover indicates colour coding for the Great Lakes Region, or an indicator of the year it was printed. This is a straight forward, functional piece — but still manages to retain a strong sense of identity and graphic confidence.
