An early example of the growing confidence in Canadian modernist graphic design. This magazine for the American National Society of Art Directors featured a number of Montreal’s most prominent designers of the time, including this beautifully minimal two-colour cover by Ernst Roch. The stylised ‘A’ and ‘D’ combined with the arrow motif provide a compelling sense of forward momentum, pointing starkly to a brave new world that feels uncompromising in its simplicity.
