A striking leaflet design in the classic G+A style by Tiit Telmet, who had joined Stuart Ash as his first employee after relocating from the US (via Estonia). It was produced for the AGO’s Spring programme of exhibitions, with a bold graphic device and green colourway that reflects the season with its sense of energy and new beginnings. This theme was particularly relevant, as at that time the AGO was undertaking some major renovations under noted architect John C. Parkin, and was set to reopen in September of that year.
While the building was out of action, all exhibitions were held at a range of different venues across Toronto, along with activities and the museum’s shop located in The Grange, a historic Georgian Mansion in downtown Toronto that was the original home of the museum (first called The Art Museum of Toronto).
