The annual Congrès of the Association Canadienne-Française pour l’Avancement des Sciences dates back to the 1930s. This publication was produced for the 1978 event, held at the University of Ottawa in May of that year, and includes a summary of communications produced for the event.

The event’s identity for this year consisted of a large number 46 reproduced in simple coloured stripes, this being the 46th time the event had been held. Different years tackled the same task but with a unique design approach, each remaining distinctive while ensuring a sense of continuity over the years.
